Herradura Community

In Monterrey, Mexico the generation X population is rapidly increasing, demanding a refined development that provides and facilitates everyday needs. The proposal of Herradura Community was to create such a development that also encouraged a sense of community and health through nature. A highly vegetated oasis was created in which a series of buildings were divided by natural and built space.
Inspiration was taken from Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonian architecture to design an interaction between nature and buildings. A main walkway weaves through the complex, displaying a relationship between shadow & light and nature & building.
